We are very pleased that you have decided to spend one semester/academic year at FMH – Faculdade de Motricidade Humana, of the Universidade de Lisboa (ULISBOA).
As a student from one of our partner institutions, you will have the incredible opportunity to study in one of the most exciting European ERASMUS+ cities – Lisboa.
Becoming an ERASMUS+ student at FMH means being part of a lively community of international students. We hope that you will find your time at FMH enriching both academically and personally.

Students who are not formally nominated by their home Universities cannot be accepted.
Once we receive your nomination, we send you a message with relevant information regarding your stay and application. You will have, then, to complete the Application Form and the Learning Agreement (attached to the message). These two documents, after being completed, have to be signed by you and your Home Coordinator before being sent to us to: Este endereço de email está protegido contra piratas. Your application will not be considered if we do not receive these documents, together with your photo.
Yes. Documents must reach our office no later than:
- 1st semester applications – June, 15
- 2nd semester applications – December, 10
Information, in English, on the courses offered may be found here: (http://www.fmh.ulisboa.pt/en/undergraduate). A list with courses available for all Erasmus students will be updated every semester and sent to you with the acceptance message.
In case your level of Portuguese is higher than B1, and you are able to attend courses in Portuguese, you may also take a look at the Portuguese version of our website: for Undergraduate courses, click here and for Master, here.
Please note that there might be some slight changes regarding the allocation of subjects to the 1st or 2nd semester (winter and spring semesters), which will only be known after the schedules are published.
You can take courses from any of our Bachelor and Master courses.
You can take courses from other Faculties provided that 60% of your chosen courses are from FMH. These courses have to be part of your Learning Agreement, and depend on the acceptance of the other Faculty of ULISBOA.
All classes are in Portuguese, so students are advised to take some Portuguese classes in advance. For a reduced number of courses, it will be possible to arrange for tutorials in English (B2 level required). However, if you intend to take theoretical courses, we strongly recommend students learn Portuguese before their arrival. No Language Certificates are required.
Students are advised to come one week before the beginning of the semester in order to get settled. The orientation week will take place in this week (you will receive information about the day/time you are due to come to FMH to deal with all the necessary paperwork and schedule).
Students are expected to spend about:
- Meals: 225€/month
- Renting a room: 300-350-400€/month
- Public transport pass: 40€/month
Finding a flat/room is not easy at the moment in Lisbon, so we advise you to start your search early.
When deciding about living in Lisboa or in the neighbourhood of FMH you should consider that the practical classes start rather early in the morning, and that it will take almost 1 hour to get from Lisbon to the Faculty by public transport.

Yes. You must bring your European Health Insurance Card. You will, however, need to sign for the Faculty Insurance (which only covers events occurring at the faculty).
Yes. Please ask your Erasmus Office to contact us (Este endereço de email está protegido contra piratas. Necessita ativar o JavaScript para o visualizar.) so that we may have a Bilateral Agreement signed before your application.
These dates vary a little, depending on the calendar. The 1st Semester usually starts in the second week of September, and the 2nd Semester on the 1st week of February.
The academic calendar will be sent to you as soon as you are accepted.
